First eTEACHER progress meeting, a project to empower energy education

The eTEACHER Consortium met for two days for its first progress meeting hosted by the partners of Nottingham City Council to assess achievements to date and plan the coming project period.

On the 1st and the 2nd of March, the eTEACHER project consortium gathered in Nottingham, UK, for its first progress meeting. Other than the meeting, some of the partners also got the chance to visit the UK pilots – namely the Council House and the Djanlong City Academy –the day before as the partners get to see the sites where energy behaviour interventions will take place in the next three years.

For two days0, eTEACHER’s project coordinator, Noemi Jimenez from Cemosa, led the knowledge exchange between the partners as the entire consortium gathered at the Council House where the official progress meeting took place.

The first day was dedicated to the status-of-the-art of the activities carried on so far. Each partner had the chance to explain its respective activities and the steps that will follow. This was done to better plan and coordinate altogether the future actions of the project.

On the following day, one of the partners, Steinbeis, facilitated the workshop dealing with exploitation and market deployment strategies. During their interactive exercises, the partners were challenged to express and to exchange their initial ideas on exploitation paths based on their involvement with eTEACHER.

The outcome of these exercises revealed the necessity to identify and to design the behavioural change catered to energy end users during the project’s first year. These will be fundamental for the partners to share a common view about the different kinds of energy end-users to be addressed within the projects’ activities and the engagement that will take place between the said users all throughout the project life.

Because of this, the consortium planned to schedule a meeting between the De Montfort University, which is in-charge of the above-mentioned activities, and the ICT partners. The goal is to fully understand and debate on the integration of user-requirements into the technical specifications of eTEACHER and to work out on the details regarding the cases and the targeted features of the ICT tools and services based on end-user needs.
