De Montfort University

De Montfort University (DMU) is a leading research-oriented University in the UK with over 20,000 students and nearly 2,000 members of staff. Operating from a campus in Leicester, the University has a long history of working in partnership with commercial organisations and other Universities, in the UK, Europe, Russia and Asia. DMU partners with more than 80 universities and colleges in over 25 countries. Situated within the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development, the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD) at De Montfort University is a world-class highly multi-disciplinary research and postgraduate institute with expertise in energy, smart grids & cities, building physics, building energy modelling, ICT (incl. energy dashboards), electrical and electronic engineering, social science, behaviour change and public engagement. Our research is focused on four key themes: low carbon living, low impact living, smart grid modelling and demand response, and sustainable energy for developing countries.

DMU has a long established track record in the successful delivery of multi stakeholder research and commercial projects. To date DMU has participated in more than 30 Framework 7 and H2020 projects and has acted as the Co-ordinator for nine of those projects, including HELIUM3D, ETICA, CONSIDER, RESPONSIBLE-INDUSTRY, DEW-COOL and HP-LP-SOLAR-FAÇADE. Most recently we have been a key partner in the IEE SAVES project with the NUS.
